Bread and Tomato Salad Recipe

3 tablespoon lemon juice
1 clove(s) garlic, minced
3 tablespoon oil, olive, extra virgin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon salt
pepper, black ground, to taste
4 cup(s) tomatoes, diced, (about 1.5 pounds) seeded
2 cup(s) bread, whole-wheat, (about 5 ounces) cubed with crusts removed
1/4 cup(s) onion(s), red, thinly slivered
3 tablespoon basil, fresh, chopped
2 tablespoon capers, rinsed
4 can(s) sardines, boneless, skinless, 4, 4.5 ounce cans (optional)

1. Whisk oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper in a large bowl.

2. Add tomatoes, bread, onion, basil and capers. Toss to combine. Let the salad sit for about 5 minutes to allow it to absorb the dressing's flavors, stirring occasionally.

3. Serve at room temperature.
