Hi everyone! I'm a not-so-recent expat living in Palmoli, province of Chieti. Right now I don't have a whole lot of time because I have to chase my 21 month old son around and when I'm not doing that, I try to do some part-time work translating. But, I'm looking forward to checking in once and a while and chatting.

Hi Mary!!! I am right next door in Vasto! My husband's family also owns a restaurant/hotel Palazzo Tour D'Eau in Carunchio, so we come up there sometimes. I have a 2-yr-old+4mos. daughter. How are you coping up there in the hills? Do you have someone to help you out with the baby? Is there any daycare? We finally got a really nice family-oriented daycare here in Vasto.
If you're down here sometime we'll have to get together. Also, there's a woman living right there across the Molise border, you'll have to see if you can find her in the who's who

Ciao!
Rachel

Hi Rachel, maybe we can get together some time. Giovanna and I have been saying that for a couple of years now though and we haven't found the time yet. Babies don't leave you much time. We do have an asilo nido here, but I don't take my son there. I'll keep him at home until he's ready to go to the regular asilo (next year). Right now my parents are here visiting, so I have some help. Other than that, I'm the Lone Ranger.

Hi Lizzie and Clare too. Thanks for the welcome. I used to check into the ExpatsinItaly forum, but I haven't been on there in ages.

I heard that Mary! At least you have an excuse...I'm just lazy. Rolling Eyes But really, the weather is getting nicer and we will get together with Rachel as well.

Very Happy I don't have that much of an excuse either. We keep saying we're going to come over one weekend, but something always comes up. But, when I think about what things I've been doing, the list isn't that long. We'll get together one of these days - and with Rachel as well.

Hi Mary! I've said hello to you on your blog before, I'm Carrie over in Giulianova!

We will have to make a point of having an Abruzzo/Molise meetup once the weather gets nicer. Heidi from Expats is in Roseto... perhaps we can find somewhere mid-way, by the sea?

Glad you're here!
