Okay ladies! I just heard about this book exchange sight and I think it's a great idea! It does look like a lot of the users are American, but how about we start joining and adding to their database?

The idea is you donate books you want to get rid of and get points. You can use your points to get other books from other users. You can also add a particular book to your wishlist and get email notification if someone has it.

The tricky part here is that you pay to ship the book. But when "getting" a book, they also pay to ship to you. Ideally, if the database had more European members then the shipping would be less expensive. You can choose to only ship within your region, but lets face it, sometimes it is hard to get some English books over here and if an American is willing to ship you a book and pay for it then perhaps we would do the same in return...what do you think???

Sounds good, but I have a feeling I would not keep up with it well (i tried zerorelativo bartering and I failed miserably! - will post this in a new post) and I usually don't want to part with my books, even though I haven't read a book in like 2 years. I am pathetic!
Anyway, the initiative is good. I have a friend here who would most likely love to participate. I will pass it along to him. He's been known to loan books out.

Meanwhile, I do have a couple of books that I just don't want, so I will post them on here sometime soon and they will be up for grabs.

The problem for me is the postage both cost and time it takes to queue at the postoffice...it is cheaper to go and buy it new over the net! But it is such a nice idea!
