I'm 5 1 as well!
but have you noticed that italian women tend to be extremely narrow on the hips but their shoulders are enormous!? when they put on weight they look boxy.I virtually never go shopping but get loads of hand me downs cheers

As a race though the Italians are getting alot taller...I gess 5 10 is still tall for a woman...but I see lots of tall women around...

Really? I'm 5'10" and I'm a giant compared to most Italian women. I can't find any clothes long enough here but will have to try Oviesse. I've bought undies, pyjamas and kid's clothes there but never normal clothes.

One tip for the tall women out there - H&M is really good for us. They're a Swedish chain so I guess that makes sense since Swedes tend to be tall.

Becca - I love shopping in Holland. My husband is Dutch so we go there once a year. It's funny as I've bought so many stylish things in Breda (town near my husband's village). We get Dutch people at the B&B and they ask me where I shop and I tell them Breda and they think that's hilarious. Laughing

I hear Zara is supposed to be good for tall women. I think there is one in the centre of Rome...I've never been in it...can't reach the door handle! Razz

I think there might be some in the Shopping Malls in Roma as well like Porta Roma and Roma Este.

I have seen H&M in there and i love that shop!! Very Happy

Hi,

your'e right Lizzie, Zara are good if you are tall, especially for trousers, only place where I could do with taking them up!

excuse me homey but have you ever noticed what the "big" italian girls wear in this country? It is shocking and scary! I still cannot understand what is going on with the buyers for the clothing lines!!! There is some great confusion in my opinion!

In the US, I wear a small or medium in most pieces of clothing. Here I need a Large! And XL doesn't even exist in some places... and I am like a size 44 now after having a kid...

I have a large friend here (very tall and also heavy) and she can't find any clothes she likes. (she is a foreigner) so she wears the same long black dress every day. Sad But some of these large italian women wear clothes that do not flatter them because they are really too small...

of course, i am in a very small town so i am on a rant here...

yeah i mean its weird because I am a US size 6-8 depending on the season and I have always been "in shape" or thin in America but factor in the fact that I am 5'10'' and I do have wide hips .. sucks.. I went to the centro commerciale today an they JUST put in a new H&M which was AWESOME , such cute clothes.. jeans i can NEVER find but sometimes at zara .. Italian women dont really have much of a butt so thats why the jean sizes are very different.. ehh was easier when i used to model and eat only salad for dinner.. now however.. me and pasta go together like ryan gosling and rachel mcadams .. luckily i am going bk to texas and LA in december so i will take advantage of clothes that fit.. im so sick of feeling fat!
