Most of us are so accustomed to shopping for “ready made” food products that we forget how easy it is to make healthy foods at home. Did you know that mint is highly regarded for its ability to soothe the digestive tract and settle a nervous stomach?

We find this delightful recipe for Cinnamon Mint Tea. As the aroma of cinnamon will fill your home and warm your heart. This tea can be served hot or cold (in summer) and is as easy to make as boiling water! Plus, the ingredients have long been used support healthy digestion, so it makes for a delicious and health-promoting drink everyday.

Cinnamon has unique healing abilities, and has long been used as both a food and a medicine. Its three main abilities include anti-cloting action, anti-microbial activity, and blood sugar control (plus it tastes scrumptious!)

8 Cups water
2-3 cinnamon sticks
A handful of fresh mint leaves (about 10-15 leaves)
Dash of cinnamon powder
Your favorite sweetener (like agave or stevia)

Bring the water to boil in a pot. Add the cinnamon sticks and boil for another 10-15 minutes. Remove pot from heat and add the remaining ingredients. Cover and let sit for at least 5 minutes. Enjoy. You can refrigerate and serve cold in summer.
