Bus drivers ..

So i was on the bus the other day waiting at the capolinea ( last stop ) for the bus to get moving again when the bus driver slid out of his seat and came to sit next to me and chat.. hes at WORK! the same dribble we probably all have heard " where are you from" , "i love america" , or "why can't i get a beautiful girl such as you.." Luckily he wasnt being pervy but at the same time I couldnt just walk away since I really needed that bus... i am going to have to cement my ipod tomy ears so people get the hint.. oh and when he knew i had a boyfriend he asked "sei fedele" whatt? is that normal?

Get some of those big giant earphones people wear then he cant miss that your listening to music and take the hint heehee

Sheesh, it used to be enough to say you had a boyfriend, or a fidanzato. I guess that apparently means nothing, which should be good warning to other women out there who think they have an Italian "fidanzato." Apparently, there are then "fedele" and "non-fedele" subcategories.

Actually, though, I'm not surprised. I mean, that would've surprised me on my first visit to Italy (as did many things men here did), but now that I've been here several times on vacation and now am living here...I don't know. I don't want to say it's normal, because it's not, it's disgusting and weird, but definitely not that unusual.

Haha! I like that! Not sure it would work, though - the other day I was chatted up by a guy who had no intention of letting the fact that I speak about 10 words of Italian, and he spoke NO English whatsoever, deter him. He was absolutely dead set on taking me out that night, and wouldn't take 'no capisco' for an answer. Reader, I'm afraid I stood him up - something I have never done before, and hoped I never would!

hopefully you taught him a good lesson Katja! It's a good way of dealing with it though...just appearing to give in but not show up ..as long as you don't bump into him again.
Another idea...find out the name of a local VD clinic and as soon as someone starts talking to them get the name of the clinic out and ask them for directions...
