Hi all, I need to get a normal checkup (Pap smear, etc) and I'm trying to figure out where to go!

I'm in Italy legally but I still haven't picked up my tessera sanitaria (eek...). Once I get it, is it worth doing the checkup at a public hospital/how much cheaper is it/how would I book?

Otherwise, anyone know any good private doctors I could visit? And is it better to visit a private doctor for this kind of thing? I can speak Italian, but not super well.

I've heard good things about the private Aventine medical group, but it's 180 euros for the visit, which is a lot.

Any advice much appreciated! Thanks!
